About Our Preschool Program

The Ridgefield Park Preschool Program follows the guidelines of the New Jersey Department of Education Office of Early Childhood.  Our program is aligned with the Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards and Preschool Implementation Guidelines.  

The Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards are grounded in a strong theoretical framework for delivering high quality educational experiences to young children. A supported learning environment, a comprehensive curriculum, a developmentally assessment, and rich, positive interactions are all practices that are optimal for strong learning outcomes. The Preschool Program Implementation Guidelines supports school districts and funded programs to plan and implement a high-quality preschool program for three and four year old children. This document supports the learning standards while highlighting best teaching practices for our youngest learners. All major elements of a program are included in the guidance and used as a guide for program administrators, teaching staff, and other personnel working with preschoolers .The NJ Department of Education, Office of Early Childhood website provides additional information about the guidelines.
