Moebius Syndrome Awareness DayOn Monday, January 24, 2022, Grant School lit the school up in purple!  We were showing support on Moebius Syndrome Awareness Day. Moebius Syndrome is a congenital neurological condition that affects Cranial Nerves 6 and 7. Individuals are not able to move their eyes side to side, and their face is paralyzed.  So they cannot smile, frown, pucker their lips for a kiss and squint their eyes to protect them from the sun. This type of facial paralysis can make eating, breathing, and speaking extremely challenging. Grant School celebrated the theme, “Smiles Come in ALL Shapes and Sizes.” Students and teachers dressed in all shades of purple. Ms. Walker’s class even had purple masks on all day! It was a great day to bring awareness to a syndrome that people may not have known about.  A big thank you to the Morales family for putting the day together.
